One Heart Women's MInistry

The purpose of Oakwood’s ONE HEART Women’s Ministry is to accept and love women of all ages; to encourage and equip them to grow in Christ, and to serve in their families, church, and community. Our guiding scripture is “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” - Ephesians 4:4-5, 16

ONE HEART is led by six women who are devoted to a growing and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and want to share their passion with other women. Each woman on the leadership team has identified her individual gifts and talents so that she can use those strengths to reach out and involve the women at Oakwood in ONE HEART. The ministry continues to grow as more and more women volunteer to use their God-given abilities in a variety of ways to love and encourage women of all ages at Oakwood and the surrounding community.  You can learn more about our leadership team and find their contact info below.

  • Fervent By Priscilla Shirer

    Tuesday Mornings 9:30am to 11:30am

Prayer: from wimp to warrior. We will look at the book "Fervent' by Priscilla Shirer and learn how to battle in prayer. This study begins April 10th and finishes on May 8th. You can purchase a book online through Lifeway or Amazon. Judy McDaniel is excited to lead this study and confident it will produce effective strategies in our prayer lives! Join us!

  • Discerning The Voice of God

    Monday Evenings 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Through Priscilla Shirer's revised and expanded edition we will discover the root to clear, daily communication with God - humble obedience. During this 7-week study we will learn how surrender unlocks His many blessings intended for us, centers us in His will, help us discern His voice in everyday life and recognize the Holy Spirit's character. This study begins on March 19th and finishes on May 7th with no study on April 2nd due to Easter and Spring Break.

  • Uninvited for Teen girls

    monday evenings 7:00pm to 9:00pm

In this six-session study Lysa TerKeurst helps us to explore the roots of rejection; the lies we believe as a result; and the truth about who God is, who we are, and what it looks like to live loved. The enemy wants us to feel rejected...left out, lonely, and less than. When we allow him to speak lies through our rejection, he pickpockets our purpose. Cripples our courage. Dismantles our dreams. And blinds us to the beauty of Christ's powerful love. Study guides are $13 and can be purchased from Lindsay Collins or Melisa Hall. If you have questions please contact Melisa Hall 248-515-9027 or oneheart@oakwoodcc.org
