  • Marty mcdaniel, Deacon chairman

Hello, I am Marty McDaniel, I've been serving Christ at Oakwood since August 2000. I've watched Oakwood grow from a one room school house into the building it is in now. It was a true blessing to see the body of Christ at Oakwood come together through the struggles of completing this building. I'm married to a wonderful Godly wife Judy. We were able to bring up our 3 youngest sons at Oakwood and the AWANA program. I've been blessed to serve in many roles at Oakwood; from teaching, to cleaning the toilets. I'm honored to be able to continue to serve at Oakwood, and hopefully be used of God to help others grow here.

  • Tim Dangel

Hi, my name is Tim Dangel. My wife, Sheryl, and I were introduced to Oakwood Community Church by a co-worker of Sheryl’s in 2005. Since first attending, our family has seen many awesome examples of God’s sovereignty and grace, including family members coming to Christ (myself and our wonderful daughters Erica and Amanda), our subsequent baptisms, “plugging in” to church service opportunities in small groups and church ministries, and currently being honored to serve as a Deacon. The opportunities to grow more Christ-like are a direct result of Oakwood’s mission of growing a great family... grounded in faith, guided by grace, and going in love! Our family looks forward to continuing to serve our Lord with Oakwood for many years to come, and we hope others will join us!

  • Dan Koskinen

Our family came to Oakwood in early 2015, and immediately felt that this was where the Lord was leading us to grow, and serve. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Pam, for 27 years, and we have three great children, Mckenna who is 22 and attends Mid Michigan Comm. College, Leah who is 20, and attends Otterbein University in Ohio, and Colin who is 17, and is a Junior in High School. I am a full time firefighter and paramedic, and have been with the Bloomfield Twp. Fire Dept. for 26 years. I also own and manage a small building company. I enjoy all kinds of motor sports, as well as hunting, and any time I can spend with my family, who I love very much. Pam has homeschooled all three of our children, and works part time with Homeschool Connections as a campus supervisor, and communications coordinator.

We live on a small farm, which used to be home to many animals, but has been scaled back significantly over the past few years. Pam takes care of the day to day operation of keeping the animals happy, I get to fix the buildings, and fences, and find excuses to get the tractor out. When I was asked to serve as a Deacon, I felt honored, and very privileged to have the opportunity to use my God given gifts to serve at Oakwood. Our family has enjoyed watching Oakwood flourish under the leadership God has put in place, and it is truly a privilege to be a part of it. I will do my best to make careful, God honoring decisions with the funds that have been entrusted to the leadership team, by the family at Oakwood.

  • Tim May

Tim and his wife, Sheena, have been part of the Oakwood family since moving to Michigan from upstate New York in July of 2015. They have two kids, Nolan (14) and Alanna (11). Tim works as a service advisor at Milosch's Palace. Tim enjoys sports and being active. Sheena works as an ABA technician with young children with autism. She enjoys reading in her free time. Sheena and Tim have been involved with different ministries for many years.

  • Lance Red

Hello. It is an honor and a blessing to be able to serve at Oakwood; to be a part of what God is doing in our community for His glory. This is my first time serving as Deacon and I am very humbled by it. I look forward to working with the Oakwood family, in putting our faith into action and growing God’ s kingdom by serving those around us. I live in Clarkston, I am single, and I'm a freelance fantasy illustrator. As a Deacon I help oversee the Oakwood Cares & Benevolence Ministry along with Tim May. If you or someone you know are in need of help please let us know. I also help orchestrate the Serve on Saturday volunteer ministry here at Oakwood where we organize various volunteer workdays to help people & organizations in our neighboring communities. Know of a cool community organization we could partner with or perhaps a neighbor that needs help? Let us know.

  • Matt young

It is an honor and a privilege to serve Oakwood Community Church as a Deacon. I have attended Oakwood along with my wife, Deana, and 2 children, Hilary and Zachary for the past 3 years and are happy to have found a church family with the value and beliefs that we want to instill in our children. We live and work in the Lapeer area and I am blessed to be the Superintendent/Director of The Chatfield School in Lapeer. My wife, who serves on the Friendship Team, also works in Lapeer at Thorpe Animal Hospital. Our children, Hilary (12) and Zachary (7) enjoy Oakwood and Hilary sings on the worship team. We love watching our children grow up in a loving environment that allows them to honor God with their talents and beliefs. I enjoy hunting, fishing and spending time with my family. Proverbs 22:6
