One Heart Women's MInistry

The purpose of Oakwood’s ONE HEART Women’s Ministry is to accept and love women of all ages; to encourage and equip them to grow in Christ, and to serve in their families, church, and community. Our guiding scripture is “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” - Ephesians 4:4-5, 16

ONE HEART is led by six women who are devoted to a growing and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and want to share their passion with other women. Each woman on the leadership team has identified her individual gifts and talents so that she can use those strengths to reach out and involve the women at Oakwood in ONE HEART. The ministry continues to grow as more and more women volunteer to use their God-given abilities in a variety of ways to love and encourage women of all ages at Oakwood and the surrounding community.  You can learn more about our leadership team and find their contact info below.

  • One Heart christmas brunch

    saturday, december 1st 10:00am to 1:00pm

    Come join us for our annual One Heart BRUNCH and celebrate CHRISTMAS with girl friends! Enjoy a scrumptious brunch buffet, an irresistible hot cocoa bar, music, fun and an inspiring message from Keli Hillier. This beautiful event is free. Sign-up here or in the lobby on Sundays.   •   The gathering for women

    The Gatherings are informal opportunities for ALL women to connect and get to know one another in a casual atmosphere.  Stop in for one or more Gathering opportunities.

    • Friday, December 14th 10:00am at Sheila Merritt's House - White Elephant Exchange (Bring an item from around your home.)
    • Thursday, January 17th 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the church
    • Tuesday, February 19th 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Angela Hasman's Home
    Childcare is available for Gatherings at Oakwood and children are welcome to come to the off-site Gatherings with you.

  • The Disciples Path for Women

    Disciples Path teaches what it means to follow Christ; how to model discipleship; how to practice discipleship; helps establish the habit of looking to the Bible for solutions; and teaches how to apply basic biblical doctrine to everyday life.

    wednesday morning 9:30am to 11:30am

    monday evenings 7:00pm to 9:00pm

This 7-session study contrasts the evidences of walking by faith and walking by sight and encourages participants to give God control rather than seek to remain in control, preserve through hardship instead of quitting and be guided by the Truth rather than feelings.
