Hello Great Family,
I am sending my weekly email early in order to give you time to particpate in Oakwood's new initiative to support DRAW (Disaster Relief At Work). DRAW is dedicated to providing relief to communities around the U.S. that have been hit by natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. Currently, the devastation from Hurricane Helene continues to increase across the southeast. As the death toll rises, many communities remain flooded, and the overwhelming cleanup continues to be a concern. DRAW has been busy in the warehouse, filling hundreds of buckets with cleaning supplies and essential items to help families in hurricane-hit communities.
Supplies have been depleted due to the extent of this disaster. Oakwood is committed to helping resupply DRAW with essential cleaning items to fill their DRAW Buckets. Please look at the attached flyer and purchase the specific items needed (please do not buy random items, stick with the specified list given by DRAW). There is a convenient QR code on the flyer that will take you right to DRAW's Amazon list where you can purchase exact items requested by DRAW. You can have those items shipped right to Oakwood or get the items and bring them to Oakwood on Sunday, October 6 and Sunday, October 13. We will have a covered trailer parked outside by the main entrance. Please place items inside the trailer before coming into church. All items will be delivered to DRAW on Monday, October 14.
Let's do this! This is a great opportunity for the great family at Oakwood to see a need and meet a need. It's one thing to DO church and a completely different thing to BE the church! We are the hands and feet of God to go and help! I pray we can fill the trailer with supplies to help the families and communities devastated by this tragedy.
God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
