Hello Great Family at Oakwood,

In this “P.D. Weekly Email”, I want to focus on our Oakwood Cares fund and the annual offering collected this week.

The Oakwood Cares fund is a ministry of Oakwood Community Church that exists to bless and share God’s love with people in our church and local community by meeting real needs through acts of service, generosity and compassion. In recent years we have distributed thousands of dollars to help families with needs like medical bills, heat for their homes, vehicle repairs, as well as emergency assistance.

Our goal each year is to collect $20,000.00 so that we can continue to meet needs and love on people in our community.  As I sit in my office writing this on Friday morning, we have received roughly $3,500.  We have a long way to go but I am hopeful we will get there by day’s end on Sunday.

You can donate two ways:

  1. In person this Sunday – Place your offering in the Oakwood Cares envelope provided on top of the giving stations.  Remember, both regular giving and special giving goes into the giving stations.  Help us by designating your gift so that it will go to the Oakwood Cares fund.
  2. Online – Click on this link to go directly to the “Oakwood Cares” giving portal.  Next, fill out all the information and make your donation.

Thank you for being the great family at Oakwood Community Church.  It is a privilege to serve as your pastor and a joy to know that we have the resources that can really help people.  May God continue to make us effective in our community!
