Hello Great Family,

Thank you for being a part of the great family of Oakwood Community Church.  You make Oakwood a great place to worship and serve our great God.

I recently have been experiencing unbearable pain due to back issues and a pinched nerve.  I have been in and out of the hospital over the past weekend, but the pain continues to be overwhelming.  My doctors are working on some temporary measures to relieve pain, but it looks like surgery is inevitable.

The Elders have approved some immediate changes that will allow me to continue serving the church while limiting activities that will induce my pain.  Effective immediately, Oakwood will have ONE service at 11am on Sundays.  There will not be a 9am service.  ChildCare and SONshine Park will continue to operate during the 11am service.  The 11am service will be livestreamed and then available to watch online during the week at your convenience.

I recognize that this change in schedule effects everyone and I pray that it will not discourage anyone from attending.  I lean on your understanding and grace until my physical abilities improve.

God willing, we are planning on having two services on Easter Sunday, April 17th.  As a reminder, our Easter sermon series starts this Sunday.  Please join us at 11am.

Communication is essential since the new service schedule starts this Sunday. Please help us to get the word out so that no one is surprised Sunday morning.  Tell everyone in your family and then perhaps call or text someone who might not read emails.  Thanks!
