P.D. Is Concerned at Oakwood

Hello Great Family,

I decided to write you early this week to share something I'm concerned about.

Mount Candy (see picture below) is about half the normal size for this time of year.  Harvest Festival (October 30th) is only two weeks away.  This made me a little nervous so I went to the Oak to see how many trunks we have for Trunk of Treat and sure enough... we only have half the trunks we need to make this event happen.

I'm not going to panic.  I'm doing some deep breathing excercises.  I'm going to think positively and have confidence that the great family at Oakwood is going to rally and make this happen because this is an "ALL IN" event.  We truly need everyone to participate.  We need lots more candy.  We need 25 more trunks.  We need servants to help with set-up and tear-down.  We need servants to help serve cider and donuts.  We need you!  Sign-up at the Oak on Sunday or call the church office (248) 628-6388.

To make my anxiety worse, I will not be here this Sunday.  I'll be with the men of Oakwood at a Men's Retreat at Camp Barakel.  I will not be here to encourage the people of Oakwood to step-up and sign-up.  I'm going to have to trust you to do this on your own.  Don't hesitate!  Stop coming up with one hundred reasons why you can't and just do it.  Participate - it is good for you and the church!

I'll check back next Monday to see how big Mount Candy is and how many trunks we have.  I'm trusting that I'll be thrilled with the great family at Oakwood.  I always am!!
