Hello Great Family,

It's true!  Oakwood is a GREAT FAMILY! I am so grateful to be your pastor.  I'm sitting in my office thinking back over just the past week and I'm amazed at how the great family of Oakwood is so supportive, responsive, and effective.

On Saturday, we relaunched our S.O.S. (Serving Our Savior) ministry.  We had a great turnout to clear brush and plant shrubs and flowers at House of Providence in Oxford.  We had a great day and a great time even though this was only half of the project. We were disappointed that the 16 yards of mulch was not delivered on time and delayed until Wednesday.  However, Oakwood did not disappoint!  On Wednesday (mid-week and on short notice) we had another great turnout to spread mulch on a new picnic area and all around the things we planted on Saturday.  What a GREAT FAMILY!

On Sunday, I cast the vision for a new sign at the front of our property.  This "mini" project is in addition to our many known facility needs (H.V.A.C., roof, parking lot).  I shared that if we could raise $10,000 (just under half the total amount needed) for the sign, we would move forward to complete this project.  After casting this vision in the first service, I was approached immediately by a couple who told me they would write a check for $10,000 so we could move forward.  WOW! What a blessing!  I confess that during the second service, I shared this story and did a little dance (I hope my moves won't discourage people from giving generously in the future!).

I have had the opportunity to hear testimonies all week from people planning on getting baptized and others coming into membership.  What a blessing!  I love hearing how God is at work and He is using the GREAT FAMILY at Oakwood to encourage people spiritually.  God is making us truly effective!!
