Hello Great Family,
We need the great family at Oakwood to step up and meet a pressing need. I was contacted by Greg Martin director of DRAW (Disaster Relief At Work) Ministries with an urgent request for help. They have exhausted all of their supplies assisting survivors of the past few storms and this is just the beginning of the major storm season.
DRAW is a nonprofit ministry dedicated to providing relief services to communities around the United States hit by natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes and tornadoes. DRAWs aim is to provide whatever the survivors of natural disasters need as soon as they need it. Their first response teams will help survivors sift through the remains of their homes to salvage valuables, move trees that have fallen and blocked them in their driveway, or just sit and listen as they grieve. DRAW also provides Clean-Up Buckets to households after a disaster with essential items to help people start the process of recovering.
The immediate need is for the items that go into the Clean-Up Buckets (see flyer attached). I am going to set the goal for the great family at Oakwood to collect supplies and/or donations for what is needed to provide 100 buckets for DRAW to provide to people affected by upcoming natural disasters. It is urgent so our goal is to do this by Sunday, September 17.
Please consider purchasing the individual supplies listed on the attached flyer or donating funds toward the project (each Clean-Up Bucket costs around $50 to $60). Anything you can do will help towards meeting our goal. Lets help meet this urgent need!
Just a reminderthis Sunday starts our fall schedule of going back to two services (9am & 11am). Help us spread the word so everyone is aware of this change. Also, we start our new series in the book of Ephesians this Sunday. I hope to see you here!
God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
