Hello Great Family,
Thank you for all the encouragement after last Sunday's message. That was a difficult passage to explain and preach. It was a blessing to have multiple people bless me with kind words. Oakwood, you are a great family! I'm blessed to be your pastor. May God continue to help His church thrive!!
Reminders:
- New Assistant Pastor Welcome - We are collecting gift cards to your favorite local restaurants, coffee house, cafe or shops. If you prefer to give a cash/check donation, we will use those funds to purchase gifts cards to Home Depot and Meijer. There are designated giving envelopes on top of the giving stations located in the Worship Center and Lobby. Please bring donations by Sunday, November 26th. We will present this as a gift to Pastor Ted and Jen on Sunday, December 3rd. Thank you for your generous giving!
- Pie, Prayer, Praise - Join us this Tuesday, November 21st at 6pm for a special time of fellowship for the Oakwood family as we share stories of God’s faithfulness, pray together and enjoy delicious desserts! This is an opportunity for people to gather and share stories of God’s work in their lives in an atmosphere of family fellowship. There will not be childcare available, but families are welcome to attend together. Bring a pie or other dessert if you are able.
- Decorate Oakwood For Christmas - We need help getting the church ready for the wonderful Christmas season. Everyone is invited to join us at 10am on Saturday, November 25th. Come give us an hour or two of your time. We need you!
- New Year Celebration Event - Tickets are available starting this Sunday for our first annual New Year Celebration event. Come to the "Oak" and get your tickets over the next few weeks. Help us kick-off this new event with your participation. We want you here!
I am looking forward to Christmas at Oakwood. The sermon series this year is called, "What God Wants For Christmas". Instead of putting the focus on what we want or what we can get, I want to focus on what God wants and what we can give Him this Christmas. I hope you will participate fully this holiday season and make it a Christmas to remember.
God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
