Hello Great Family, Palm Sunday is this Sunday. That means we are heading into Easter week. I pray you will prepare your heart and participate fully with your great family of Oakwood Community Church. Good Friday service will be a one hour service at noon on Friday, April 18th. The service has been planned and we are excited to provide a time to worship, meditate on Scripture, hear God's Word preached, and celebrate communion together. Feel free to invite others to join us (use the invite cards available in the lobby)! Easter Sunday services will be at 9am and 11am on Sunday, April 20th. There will be many special features to these services. You can anticipate motivating videos, energizing worship, a family dedication, people being baptized, and a clear Gospel message. We will have a decorated area in the lobby for family photos (self-serve style, ask someone to take the picture using your phone). Who are you bringing with you? I'm going to throw out a challenge. I challenge each person/family who attends Oakwood regularly to take at least one invite card from the lobby and make a commitment to invite someone to join you on Good Friday and/or Easter. People who don't normally attend church are more likely to attend on a special occasion when given a personal invitation. Why should I make the effort? The answer is obvious... We want everyone to hear the good news about God's amazing grace that saves anyone who hears and believes. How will they hear if they are not told? How will they come if they are not invited? Let's make an effort to be the hands and feet of God. I challenge you to make the effort. I look forward to see what God makes effective and the lives that will be changed! God Bless, |
