Hello Great Family,
I am still basking in the glow of “Super” Sunday! How great was that? We witnessed twelve people baptized, two families dedicate themselves to raising their children in a Godly home and five families added into the membership of the church. We all agree that it is not about numbers, but every number represents a person, a soul that God loves and wants to be an effective part of His church. So it is, “Yay God!” and God is good! He is doing a mighty work at Oakwood.
Now…this Sunday. From a high note to a potential discouragement. This Sunday is Daylight Savings Time. We “Spring” forward one hour which means we lose an hour of sleep. For churches around the U.S. this is typically the least attended Sunday service of the year. I’m going to pray, and hold hope that we will rise above the trend and continue the exciting upward trajectory we have been experiencing. Do your part by setting your clocks forward one hour on Saturday evening and getting to bed early enough to a wake up and attend one of our services (9am or 11am) at Oakwood.
We will be looking at Romans 1:16-17. This is Paul’s thesis for the entire book. The Gospel of God. Please read these two verses a few times before this Sunday and be ready to dive into what will be our emphasis going forward in our study of the book of Romans. We will have a “moment for missions” focusing on our D&D missionaries. We will also start promoting the next session of “Family Nights” with our exciting “Treehouse” ministry for children. Please consider your participation during this upcoming session. We have a good thing going here!
Praying you will part of the ongoing momentum this Sunday!
God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
