On September 29th, Franklin Graham will share the message of God’s love at Crossroads Village in Flint. This event is one stop on a six-city evangelistic outreach from Pennsylvania to Minnesota. Many people are adrift today without real hope, peace or purpose in life. We want to join in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ across the region, and Franklin Graham will invite those who don’t know the Lord to surrender their lives to Him. Each tour stop will also feature live music and prayer for our communities and our nation—to lift up the spiritual needs of America, repent of our sins, and ask the Lord to turn many hearts across the country to Him.
I am encouraging you to start preparing your hearts for this “Gospel Urgency” opportunity. One tool for you to use is the bookmark (attached and available in the lobby at Oakwood). This is a way to list the names of people that need to hear the Gospel and that you will pray for leading up to this event. It is also a little bit of accountability to make an invitation to the people on your list. How will they hear if they are not invited to attend the event with you? I am asking you to step up and participate. No one should be too busy in the temporary to care about eternal consequences. Hope to see you there!
Important Reminder: This Sunday we return to our regular schedule of two services (9am & 11am)! No matter how many reminders and announcements, this still surprises people. Please help us by reminding your friends… you know the ones who need many reminders! We will start a new sermon series called, “Just Love”. This four-week series highlights the Lord’s justice, mercy, and patience during dark times found in the book of Nahum. It will be a reminder of God’s constant activity and work, even when the world around us is falling apart. In Nahum, we see that mercy and justice do not conflict; our God has a just love for humanity.
Praying for a good start to this fall with your participation! See you Sunday at 9am or 11am.
God Bless
