Hello Great Family,
Watch this quick video from me - sorry, no Jax this week. He is like most on-camera personalities…temperamental and expensive (he was demanding too many treats).
Join your church family tomorrow, 10am at www.facebook.com/oakwoodcc as we celebrate Palm Sunday. We decided to shake things up a bit and film on Red Knapp’s rooftop (I encourage you to thank them for their generosity by ordering take-out food to keep them in business). We shot there because of the view of downtown Oxford. Jesus had a similar view of Jerusalem as he left the Mount of Olives on his way to the “Triumphal Entry”. The message is titled, “Palm Plant Praise Is Problematic”. Tune in to check it out!
Here are some upcoming ways to be involved with us:
- Food Distribution – Please let your Elder/Shepherd know if you could use some food or supplies. We plan to start distribution later next week. We have disinfected all the donations and allowed them to quarantine for a week before we distribute.
- Good Friday Service – 12pm to 1pm this Friday online at www.facebook.com/oakwoodcc. Pastor Wally from Hadley Community and Pastor Matt from New Hope will be joining me to deliver a message of encouragement to our churches. A combined worship team will lead us to worship and a musical special will be presented by local teens. We will be observing communion (please gather your own juice and crackers). You will be prompted when to partake as we lead the service.
- Easter is NOT cancelled! News media and social media is buzzing about Easter being cancelled but you can’t cancel a risen Savior…you can’t cancel an empty tomb…you can’t cancel our blessed hope…you can’t cancel the resurrection! We are gathering online on Easter Sunday to worship and we have been working hard to make it a unique and worthwhile experience for you and your friends. The Gospel will be presented clearly. We are sending you a digital video invitation for you to share with everyone you know. Let’s make sure everyone knows that Easter Has NOT been cancelled!!
Looking forward to worship in the morning and seeing you in the virtual lobbies after the service!
God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
